Rev. Dr Colin Dow
Hi, My name is Colin Dow and I have been the minister of the congregation since September 2003. I am married to Kathmar, and we have four lovely children – Samuel, Aidan, Kathryn and Jonathan.
I am originally from the village of Golspie, in the North East Highlands of Scotland. I studied Environmental Chemistry and Pure Chemistry at Aberdeen University and then worked in industry for three years as a Research and Development Scientist. After training in the Free Church College in Edinburgh, I became minister here in Glasgow City.
I became a Christian at the age of 15 and started preaching soon after in the Fisherman’s Gospel Hall, Brora, under the watchful eye of my uncle Ross MacLeod (an elder in Clyne Free Church). Over the years, the burden of God’s call became unbearable and after many mishaps, I finally obeyed. From my background, it is unsurprising that I have developed an interest in the interface between Science and Christianity, and also in the discipline known as Apologetics – the defence of the faith. Other than these things, I love good books, good food and a good football team (Aberdeen FC).
