The women in Glasgow City Free Church meet regularly to study God’s Word together and to enjoy fellowship with one another. We are drawn from areas around Glasgow and from a range of backgrounds and age groups which makes meeting together really vibrant and fun. Some of us use public transport to get around and some of us have cars. If you’d like to join any of our events and need a lift, please contact Laura our church administrator who can put you in touch with one of us.

Monthly Women’s Bible Study

On the first Saturday of each month we meet together at 3.30 pm in the small hall of Patrick Free Church building. We study a short passage of the Bible and have an informal discussion of what the passage means and how we can use it in our daily lives. We have a short session of prayer when we share with each other points we’d value prayer for. Some of us pray aloud and some of us pray in our hearts. No one will be asked to pray if they are uncomfortable praying aloud in a group. We usually finish with a cup of tea or coffee and a wee chat.

We meet once a month at a date agreed amongst ourselves but usually the second or third Saturday of the month at 11.00 am at one of our houses for coffee or tea and some pastries. One of us will say grace before eating. There is no expectation that everyone will take a turn to host. It’s whoever volunteers for the next month. If the weather is agreeable we then go for a walk in a nearby park.

Women for Mission

We also support the organisation Women for Mission. Women for Mission was established over 100 years ago to promote the growth of the Christian faith by encouraging interest in mission as well as giving practical support to the Church’s mission work in Scotland and around the globe. We offer support through fundraising and awareness raising as well as through praying for communities across the globe. If you would like to know more or get involved , please contact laura@glasgowcityfreechurch.org who will point you in the right direction. Baking may be involved!
